Terms of Use

Effective May 21, 2026.

By creating an account or otherwise using the Studea service, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully.

1. Definitions

"Studea," "we," and "us" refer to Isaiah Tucker, a sole proprietor based in North Carolina, United States, who owns and operates the Service independently under the name "Studea." "Service" means the Studea web application, mobile interfaces, and any related software. "Customer" means the individual, family, or institution that has agreed to these terms. "Authorized User" means a person granted access to the Service by a Customer.

2. Account eligibility

To create an account you must be at least 13 years old, or have your account created by a parent, legal guardian, or participating school. School-issued accounts are governed by the agreement between Studea and the school in addition to these terms.

3. Authorized use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service in violation of any applicable law;
  • Attempt to access, scrape, or copy the Service's code, database, or other accounts;
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm another person;
  • Use automated tools to bulk-generate content, except as expressly permitted by Studea in writing;
  • Upload content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others;
  • Circumvent any security feature of the Service, including the encryption and access controls described in our security overview.

4. Customer data and privacy

Customer data is processed in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Studea is a parent- and guardian-directed tool and is not itself a school official. Where a school separately engages Studea for use by its families, the parties may enter a written agreement describing the school's role as data controller and any school-official role for Studea under FERPA.

5. Intellectual property

Studea retains all rights, title, and interest in the Service, including all software, designs, and trademarks. The Customer retains all rights to the data they submit to the Service. The Customer grants Studea a limited license to process that data solely to provide the Service.

6. AI-generated content

Responses from the Studea assistant are generated by a large language model and may contain inaccuracies. Authorized Users should review answers, especially those involving grades, deadlines, or academic feedback, before relying on them. Studea is not a substitute for guidance from a teacher, counselor, or licensed professional.

7. Third-party services

Use of the Service's optional integrations (Canvas, Todoist, Google, Microsoft, and others) is subject to the third party's own terms. Studea is not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or behavior of any third-party service.

8. Service availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Scheduled maintenance, third-party outages, and force majeure events may affect the Service.

9. Disclaimer of warranties

Except as expressly stated in a written agreement, the Service is provided "AS IS" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studea disclaims all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Studea's aggregate liability arising out of or relating to these terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount paid by the Customer for the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars. Studea is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate the agreement at any time by ceasing use of the Service or by written notice. Upon termination, the Customer's account and associated personal information will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to its conflict-of-law principles. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in North Carolina.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and posted here at least 14 days before they take effect.
