Trust Center

Built for student data. Seriously.

Studea is designed to meet the security and privacy expectations of U.S. school districts. Here's everything a principal, IT director, or privacy officer needs to evaluate the platform.

Studea is owned and operated independently by Isaiah Tucker, a sole proprietor based in North Carolina — there is no third-party company between your district and the person accountable for your students' data. It is currently in a free, invitation-only beta with one partner school.

Zero-knowledge encryption

Zero-knowledge encryption is available as an opt-in setting. When a family turns it on, chat content is encrypted on their device with a key Studea cannot access, so a database compromise does not yield their student communications. It is off by default.

Credentials encrypted at rest

Canvas access tokens and optional task-app integrations are encrypted with AES-256-GCM before they are written to disk.

FERPA-aligned

Studea is a parent- and guardian-directed tool. Parents authorize access to their own child's data; where a school engages Studea, a separate written agreement would govern any school-official role.

COPPA-aware

Users under 13 require verifiable parental consent or school authorization. Data is used solely for the educational purpose described.
